Adopted text on the work: This live-action video about the egoism and hypocrisy of artists, which slowly takes on increasingly eerie and comical elements as its plot moves along, is (along with Zurich, 2008 and Demigods, 2009) part of Babanová’s loose Trilogy on Art – an exploration of the mechanisms of the art. Babanová’s films have the ambition of stepping out of the comfortable position of Czech video art. She approaches her works with the professionalism of a filmmaker,engaging experienced actors and hiring scriptwriters. For some time now, Babanová has worked with the fictional character of Eva Weber, a never-aging artist through whom she meditates upon the meaning of art, the position of female artists, and the yearning for fame, power and immortality. She finds inspiration in real people from the world of art, and in the lives of Eva Hesse or Damien Hirst. The video was originally intended to be screened in a loop.
