Adopted text on the work: An extensive exhibition of two sisters - painters (nar.1922), nominates of the prestigious Herder prize, for the first time collects works from all stages of their development and becomes a surprising testament to the work that originated from the late forties outside the mainstream of the modern Czech art. It facilitates the mutual confrontation of the work of both authors, who spent a lifetime together as well as influenced and provoked each other.
Besides the rare early works, there were exhibited all major large format canvases from the 80s and 90s, which brought the Válova sisters to the forefront of contemporary Czech art scene. Based on an extensive research, during which a number of missing work was discovered, it was possible to loan the art objects from over 60 lenders. The project also included an accompanying exhibition Phenomenon Kladno, which appraised postwar art activities of the important Czech writers, associated with industrial satellite center. Another part of the exhibition included the documentaries about sisters Valovs and about the Kladno ironworks in collaboration with the National Film Archive and the short film a.s.
