NOTES AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Notes: Curated in The Window to the Archive programme at Artycok.tv in 2012.
Adopted text on the work: Probably the only film footage from unofficial Confrontations, the exhibitions organized by students of Prague´s art academies in 1984-1987. The second exhibition of the six took place in 1984 in a house rented by a student of the Academy of Fine Arts, Petr Petr, in Krymská 21, Praha-Vršovice. The participants were students from the Academy of Fine Arts, Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design and two foreign visiting students who covered not only the walls of the house, but also space in the yard and on the porch by their artworks.
In the 90´s, Jiří David, one of the initiators of Confrontations, transferred this 8 mm film on VHS and supplemented it with music. Consequently, the record found itself on the edge of a documentary and artistic film. Digitalization from the VHS AVU Research Centre.
The participants of Confrontations II were: Jan Antoš, Jan Bačkovský, Pavel Beneš, Ueli Binder, Richard Bobůrka, Michal Cihlář, Tomáš Císařovský, Jiří David, Stanislav Diviš, Niels Eric Gjerdevic, René Hora, Nina Kalinová, Jiří Kornatovský, Mario Kotrba, Michal Machat , Martin Mainer, Jan Merta, Aleš Najbrt, Mirka Němcová, Petr Nikl, Petr Petr, Otto Placht, Jiří Plieštik, Josef Pluhař, Michal Rajniš, Antonín Střížek, Kateřina Štenclová, Kryštof Trubáček, Petr Vaněček.
