Adopted text on the work: The video is a record of the artist’s journey through the Pyrenées that form a natural border between France and Spain. Bielicky’s journey was a reenactment of Walter Benjamin’s escape from France in 1940, during which he ended his own life. Bielicky followed Benjamin’s footsteps with the help of GPS navigation, to provide the viewer with a first-person experience of the journey. The video document represents the process of remembering the past event, which the author is not even in a position to remember.
