Adopted text on the work: Joint exhibition In Petržalka’s library was a project on libraries and books of VŠVU Art students in Bratislava. I created two pieces.
First one was sound installation
“Ghost in Library”. This was inspired by written histories about antique libraries and what
people have heard when they stepped in. In these times people read aloud so the person that came in,
eg. in Alexandria’s library, heard a typical murmur. For this piece I recorded a few people
reading and I played a loop in a few mp3 players hidden around the library,
switched on by librarians at certain hours. The second project was “Náruživá čtenářka”, a happening
when I let myself be buried by librarians under old books. This was inspired by a real story
of a reader who collected so many books that they buried him.
