Adopted text on the work: The 1988 film shows one of Šejn’s processual drawings by which he depicted the peak of Zebín via frottage. For the drawing, Šejn uses clay and plants taken directly from the place in question in order to print it on paper in its entirety. In the 1980s, Šejn realized several works on Zebín hill in the Jičín Uplands. For instance, he spent a long time in the quarry on Zebín, observing and photographing the movement of the Sun and Moon, an activity that resulted in the cycles Zebín and the Moon (1982) and Zebín and the Sun (1983). In 1983, it was the site of his performance Setting Sun, during which he spun a burning torch around himself as he faced the setting Sun with his back to the rising Moon. This impressive ritual was captured on a photograph using a 10-minute exposure that shows a pulsating wheel with the outline of the artist’s body and the movement of the Evening Star. Šejn also created his artist’s book With Two Stones on the Top of Zebín (1983) at Zebín. The video documentation of his action On the Top – Zebín is a shorter version of the original half-hour VHS recording, edited by Šejn in 2009 using a digitized copy of the original material.
