NOTES AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Notes: Included in the compilation He Who Laughs: Art About the World of Art (edited by T. Nekvindová, S. Sobotovičová). “Art about art” – videos that aim directly at the art world or wend their way through art history. Published in 2013 by the Research Centre of Academy of Fine Arts in Prague (VVP AVU).
Archived separately as .mpeg2 format.
Adopted text on the work: An ironic guide to getting ahead in today’s art world. A static shot of a computer monitor slowly reveals the life plan of the writer, an ambitious artist with dangerously red fingernails. The title of her text (“How to Make a Revolution”) does not refer to the dreams of the left-wing avant-garde, but represents the application of tried-and-tested recipes for personal success. The video’s two authors combine gender issues with an exploration of and commentary on the rules of the art industry.
